Whether you see it as the opportunity for the biggest party of the year or a time to spend chilling out reflecting on 2016 with your friends and family, there are plenty of great ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in London.
We’ve highlighted just five of our favourites to give you a little inspiration and help you see in 2017 in style.
For something a bit different, head to the Natural History Museum and dance the night away with ‘Dippy’, their famous Diplodocus, before he leaves to tour the country next year.
They’re holding their own NYE ball (with an optional three-course dinner too), with DJ’s spinning all of your favourite pop, dance, disco, R&B and club anthems in the most unique and extravagant of settings!
What better way to see in the new year in one of London’s most beautiful buildings, surrounded by dinosaurs and all of the other intriguing exhibits the museum holds?
For something altogether more relaxing, why not try your hand at ice skating on one of the capital’s many winter ice skating rinks?
There’s something wonderfully wintry about ice skating which you just can’t beat, and London has some spectacular options, such as Somerset House, Hyde Park, Alexandra Palace and the Natural History Museum.
For a taste of Mardi Gras right here in London, head to the incredible carnival themed party taking place in Battersea.
With live acrobats and dancers, you’ll feel like you’re in the thick of New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro or Notting Hill, dancing the night away.
Your evening begins with complimentary street food canapés, and a gourmet three-course banquet before things really kick up a notch, with a full funfair, live band and DJs.
And at the stroke of midnight, you’ll be able to join in on all of the festivities on the Southbank, as the fireworks will be live streamed for you to enjoy without having to bear the freezing temperatures!
Head to a Comedy Night
Various comedians are performing around the city to keep you laughing through to 2017, such as Charlie Baker, Jo Caulfield, Markus Birdman, Larry Dean and Phil Nichol at The Comedy Store’s big New Year’s Eve show.
Or how about the Amused Moose NYE comedy night, followed by a full party at the Water Rats on Gray’s Inn Road.
For a true 1940s experience, step under the archways of the Overground into the Blitz’s authentic air-raid shelter environment, complete with sandbags and hurricane lamps.
With guests decked out in V-Day period dress, dance the night away to live music and sip elegant cocktails.
Bear in mind though, to keep the authenticity, they’re very strict on dress codes at the Blitz Party so make sure that you fully embrace it and get on board with the very different but very immersive experience!
